Calder & Picasso – Musée Picasso, Paris

Calder – Picasso

An art historian museologist as visitor at Musée Picasso, Paris

Open until 25 August 2019

Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976) and Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) – two of the most seminal figures of twentieth-century art – innovated entirely new ways to perceive grand themes. While the resonances between them are filled with endless possibilities, a key connection can be found specifically in their exploration of the void, or the absence of space, which both artists defined from the figure through to abstraction.

Calder and Picasso wanted to present or represent non-space, whether by giving definition to a subtraction of mass, as in Calder’s sculpture, or by expressing contortions of time, as in Picasso’s portraits. Calder externalized the void through curiosity and intellectual expansion, engaging unseen forces in ways that challenge dimensional limitations, or what he called -grandeur-immense-. Picasso personalized the exploration, focusing on the emotional inner self. He brought himself inside each character and collapsed the interpersonal space between author and subject.

The Nature of ARP

The NATURE of ARP

Jean (Hans) Arp Exhibition

Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice | 13 April – 2 September, 2019

“I was born in nature. I draw things that recline, drift, ripen, fall.” – Jean (Hans) Arp

This exhibition will investigate in depth the achievements of one of the most important and multifaceted artists of the modern era, Jean (Hans) Arp (1886-1966) founder of the Dada movement and pioneer of abstraction, whose experimental approach to creation, radical rethinking of traditional art forms, and collaborative proclivities resonate with the wide-ranging character of art today.

Here I share any pictures of my photos about exhibition. There were taken on 10 May 2019. Welcome to the nature art world of Arp.

About Jean (Hans) Arp

Artist Jean (Hans) Arp was born in 1886 in Strasbourg, the capital city of Alsace. This region was claimed alternately by Germany and France because of changing borders caused by World War I and World War II. Arp’s given name was Hans, but he later chose to go by the French equivalent, “Jean,” reflecting the shifting cultural and personal identity he experienced in his lifetime.

CHILDREN with ART

CHILDREN with ART

On my Facebook page I shared several pictures of “Children with Art”. These posts have always been a great success. Indicate how children are open, interested and receptive to art. This is why it is important that children meet artworks as often as possible. Whether in public sculptures or as much as possible, go to museums and exhibitions, and draw, paint freely. Don’t break their creativity. Art makes everyone free. Free children become free adults.

Check out and enjoy the next selection. 🙂

Auguste RODIN

Paris – London – 2018

French sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) is one of the most famous artists of the Belle Époque. Redefining the role of the artist for the modern age, Rodin’s radical work didn’t ‘idealise’ his subjects. Instead he focused on the raw intensity and natural expression of the individual’s emotions and desires.

This year I met Rodin two times in a month. At the beginning of June I was in Paris at Musée Rodin. At the beginning of July I was looking at the exhibition Rodin and the art of ancient Greece at the British Museum in London. Come with me to meet Rodin to Paris and London. Enjoy 🙂

A múlttal történő kapcsolatteremtés Fülöp Gábor munkamódszerének egyik alapja. Az archaikus vagy korai művészet fundamentumként szolgál számára. Egyrészt a szobrászati hagyomány modelljeként, másrészt munkáinak tematikus kiindulópontjaként is tekint ezekre a művészeti tradíciókra.

Architecture

In 1943, Frank Lloyd Wright was commissioned to design a building to house the Museum of Non-Objective Painting, which had been established by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in 1939. In a letter dated June 1, 1943, Hilla Rebay, the curator of the foundation and director of the museum, instructed Wright, “I want a temple of spirit, a monument!” See more here (click!)
